The Hero’s Price.

Sacrifice for the sake of freedom?
Oh! It is not easy and it is not free.

Celebrate the 15th day of August
With fire in the hearts and water in the eyes.

Oh ladies and gentlemen,
Do not forget that hero in the revel.

A hero,
Who was a monarch or a soldier,
A child or a youngster,

Or,
That widow, who cried on his grave.
That child, who was blown into the wave.

Or,
A father who burnt his son into ashes.
They were all brave!
They fought with all the might,
So that we could sleep peaceful nights.

But,
For them no trumpets blew,
No applauds rose,
Yet, silently they fought..

Every day, every hour,
To get us a freedom forever.

Let us sing the glories of them today!
To honor those unsung heroes,
Who gave their blood for this nation.

Let us embrace the freedom’s purity,
By lighting a candle in their memory,
And count their bravery.

Because,
In Saffron, white green and blue.,
The flag cried,
Without them freedom would have died!

A Walk into the clouds

I went to place where the birds stay,
With a tiny flock of people one day.
I climb & I stand,
On the giant reservoir that the nature withstand.

A huge mountain and the valley down green,
Calms my agony & holds the scene.
A thrush of emotions and excitement,
Passing through my veins.

I look up and then down,
Counting the distance I mount.
The winds blow against my face,
And the thunder strikes on my chest.

When every drop of the rain,
Trying hard for my faith to restrain.
Then comes down the strong breeze,
Making my nerves freeze.
But, a single wave fires inside me again,
For not giving up and to sustain.

With every calamity I beat,
Drives my anxiety,
To see the world under my feet.

Surrounded with the clouds here I stand now,
On the top with a cry of Joy.
The summit lies inside the blues.
And I became a thousand feet tall,

Walking into the clouds,
I respire the smell of divinity.
Sat for a long time into the mist.
Discovering the silent entity,
of the lonely planet inside me.

A voice echoed then,
And found here,

Only the Mountain and I.

Trek to Karnala fort.

Trek to Karnala fort.

Hi People!

It’s all a pleasure to share a beautiful & adventurous trek diary to Karnala fort last Sunday.
Western Ghats are the paradise for the trekkers.
In this Paradise, there is a there lies a scenic beauty called Karnala fort.

It was Sunday morning; so my friends and I decided to make the journey even louder and eventful,.

We started for a Road trip to Karnala from Kharghar, a place near Navi Mumbai.

The road journey began into the Western Ghats on NH17-the Mumbai Pune highway to Goa. The route was scenic with lush green vegetable surrounded by Hills. On the way, we found several group of bikers & cyclers riding along with full enthusiasm.  We were rewarded with the great climate and intense views of Sahyadris along with little refreshing showers.

People come up to Karnala to picnic, to watch birds, and to trek. We went to do all of it. The trek is of easy grade with a height of 1,440 ft.  It is a good place to trek for the beginners.

We were a group of approximate 40 people to trek along with the trek leaders. We started climbing at 9.30am from the manmade steps in the entrance leading directly to the forest. Before the trek began,
we were well instructed of not throwing litters and plastics anywhere and to carry one’s own waste with oneself.
We were accompanied with people from different age groups. There were people at an average age of 60 years to a little 3 year old kid. This amazed us and inspired to trek passionately. There are people passionate about their hobbies even at the age of retirement and there are people who constructed & developed trekking as their child’s hobby at a very young age.

We being “photoholics” & “selfieholics” did not leave even a single chance to capture ourselves inside te distinct bounty of nature.  The walk into the forests was unfailing source of joy.

Walking through the forests, climbing up steps, climbing up stones & steep surfaces made the complete trek vulnerable and exciting.
Finally we reached on the top of the fort and forgot all the stress and tiredness. The cool breeze,
unforgettable views, the valley, mountains were all scenic and eye catching. The fort is an expanse of greenery with a huge elevated structure on the top. Finally we saw an Eagle wondering at a distant hill.
The sight was amazing.
We had food here and rested and played and enjoyed here at the top. The departure time was decided
at 1.45 pm and we had to report the trek leaders at the marker point. Going for trekking with group is
real fun guys.
We returned back to the base and had lemonade at a local stall, waved to the friends we made their,
looking once again at the fort and finally left the astounding beauty of nature and returned back to
Kharghar.
This small journey shall always cheer in the book of my beautiful memories.
Stay tuned! God bless!!..

A Poem for my sister

I see you growing everyday..
From the little fingers and nose,
You turned into a beautiful Rose.
I remember my sweet little sissy,
Fighting and shouting
And gossiping too…
Sharing all the secrets of the universe we knew..
One more special day,
Brings my love to convey,
And I want to say,
You have been the best part of my life..
You tease me, pinch me, and you are there to wipe my tears too..
I am lucky to have you.
They say you are a carbon copy to me,
I say,I could never get a companion better to be..
With all the innocence you carry,
There’s a brave girl inside you,
Who fights for her family and stands upfront,
during every calamity.
A girl I know with the diverse facets inside her,
Just like a diamond.

Your loving sister,
AKANSHA
